Run Free’s Crusin’ into Summer

The last weekend in June, the Hurricanines hopped the pond with their people and stormed into Chilliwack to Run Free’s ‘drag racing for dogs.’   Day one saw Miss Bailey go down with too much excitement…talk about committing blood, sweat and tears to the team!    The rest of the canines rallied to complete mostly error free runs and even got some titles – Nova and Bowie!     Most importantly, Captain Sid got to enjoy his White Spot milkshake!

Although Miss Bailey was still excited on day two, she managed to keep her tongue in check and put in some impressive runs. Miss Pico took over as start dog and put up some great times, backed up by Lea, Bailey and a combination of Bowie and little Nova who both kept getting faster throughout the day!    When Pico was out, Miss Lea started the fun backed up by Bailey, Misty and team Bowie/Nova.

Sunday saw some more impressive scores from this eager team as the Hurricanines were able to capitalize on some other team’s mistakes for some wins! Most runs were completed in the 21-22 second range with one W based on time!

With some nifty raffle prizes making their way back to the Barn Stormers barn, lots of points and a couple of new titles, the Hurricanines had a good weekend. Let’s hope we can add a team of Spitfurs to the mix for next year!
